Love the great outdoors, work at home Mom of 10, love fireplaces, camping out, playing on the beach, hate shopping, creating great stuff, and being on the leading edge of relationship marketing online. If you haven't been keeping up on all the great new 'techie' toys out there, than this is a super simple, super fast, and super cool tool, you have to go grab and use.
Web 2.0 has so much F-U-N built into all it's applications that more and more functionality, speed, ease, and yes - fun are built right in.
If you have a MySpace account, a blog, a website, most anywhere works. (Currently you can not use Twitter on Squidoo, but I am working on bugging them until the do - because I just love it!).
You can get signed up in under 30 seconds, literally. You grab the code, and slap it into your template of MySpace, on your blog, or anywhere that will hold an embedded script and off you go!
What it actually is, is a mini 'poster' if you will. Meaing you are given 140 characters or less to let people know what you are doing at any given moment so they can keep up with you in your world.
For instance, "Just got my Starbucks and heading out to meet Joe on 33rd", or "Fido just ate my couch and I am looking for larger cage" you know just snipets of your day. It's really kind of fun!
But one of the coolest things about Twitter being super fast and fun to update folks is that they can add you to their Google Talk and immediately after you 'post' a Twitter they get it showing up on their Google Talk and know what you are up to in real time!
My absolute favorite thing of Twitter is the Twitter Blog where you can see the Twitter Planet. This is Amazing and so Web 2.0! It can be full screen of the planet from Space and you get to watch the world spin back and forth as it tags each place and shows you the latest Twitters going on all over the World. Want something to do while you eat your lunch today? Go watch the Twitter Blog Planet!
I use Twitter for a business space where I post short inspirational quotes each day to show up on my MySpace and everyone just loves it!
I am definitely hooked on Twitter. You can find out more at www.twitter.com and see mine at www.myspace.com/thenmmag.com and see how they can work anyway you want.
